Located at the heart of the Austreberthe valley in Seine-Maritime, the research and Training Institute for Metal Art ans Crafts was created from the need to federate the professionals of this atomized sector gathering diversified savoir-faire. Created in October 2001, IFRAM is an association in regards of the law of 1901, dedicated to the promotion of the traditional professions of the forge and metallurgy: ironwork, locksmithing, cutlery, farriery, copperwork, edgetool industry, art casting foundry… Leaning on a board of directors composed of memebers revolving around these professions, IFRAM is engaged to answer efficiently to this sector’s professionals’s concerns. Theses actions has earned us to receive, in 2003, the label « National Innovation Center for Metal Art and Crafts Professions » by the Junior Minister’s Office for art and crafts industry. This official recognition has permited to IFRAM to intensifie its engaged actions in favour of the metalworking professions.
